For a long time, Fernand was proud not to declare his wines as AOC but as table wines. On his first bottle, however, in 1968, one could read “Roussillon dels Aspres”…

The Domaine’s first “Exception” dates back to 1998,

the first Côtes-du-Roussillon-les Aspres in 2005,

the 2015 vintage is our first Côtes-du Roussillon-Villages-Les Aspres!

Still a few years before the Tresserre appellation 😉

It is a harmonious blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah.

Of the three, only the Syrah is aged in barrels of more than two or three wines. This eighteen-month maturing is intended to “open” the wine, it is not a question of “boising”, some wines from here do not need wood to express themselves. The 2009 vintage was not matured in casks.

There is more substance, more concentration; I do longer vatting and only a few pumping over, just to wet the cap of marc.

The Exception is the vintage sold each year “en primeur”, currently it is the 2022 vintage that we offer for purchase; it will be available in September 2024.

All the vintages from 2011 onwards are still available, sometimes even in Magnums or Jeroboams; the Exception 2017 is also available. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
